Jackson Walker has firmed up its commitment to downtown's 5 Houston Center with a major lease renewal. The 77,015-square-foot lease at 1401 McKinney reflects a renewal of 74,094 square feet and an expansion of 2,921 square feet, Transwestern announced.

A partnership led by Braun Enterprises has purchased 5757 Woodway, a 162,188-square-foot office building on 4 acres east of Augusta Drive, commercial real estate firm HFF announced. The property was sold by Woodway Office Partners, a joint venture sponsored by Houston-based Fuller Realty Partners and Harbert Management Corp.

New Orleans' Dat Dog picks Rice Village for first Houston location

Dat Dog, a popular New Orleans hot dog chain, is making good on its promise to expand to Houston in 2018 with its first location in Rice Village. Dat Dog has leased 2,919 square feet at 5504 Morningside Drive, according to brokerage firm Retail Solutions. The location will be just north of Hopdoddy Burger Bar in a building that previously housed Platform Houston campus.

Archway Properties starts mixed-use project in Humble

Archway Properties has kicked off Park Air 59, a 111-acre mixed-use development at the northeast corner of U.S. 59 and Will Clayton Parkway. The project, located in Humble, is designed to include retail, restaurant, industrial and services. Vital Heart & Vein has purchased 4.2 acres in the park for a 65,000-square-foot, three -story medical office building, NewQuest Properties announced. Houston-based Archway Properties is handling construction, with completion planned in mid 2018. Austin Alvis of NewQuest Properties and Preston Cunningham of Cunningham Ventures represented the seller, Archway WC59 Humble Ltd. Jeries Ganim of Commercial Regional Properties of Texas represented the cardiology group.

Katy's Cane Island community adds two builders

Taylor Morrison and Highland Homes have joined the lineup of home builders in Cane Island where they will build in the second phase of the Katy community. Phase two is planned for more than 250 homes on 100 acres. The community, on 1,200 acres north of the Katy Freeway at Cane Island Parkway, opened in 2015.

Comerica Bank will get its name at the top of 17-story Two Riverway building as part of a deal to relocate its Houston market headquarters from Brookhollow Central to the Galleria area midyear. The Dallas-based bank has leased 34,624 square feet in the building, according to Stream Realty Partners. The new office, just south of Woodway near South Post Oak Lane, will house Comerica's middle market banking, treasury management, small-business banking, wealth management and human resources operations, according to Comerica. Two Riverway's design and collaborative, high-tech workspaces factored in to the relocation decision. The bank will move from 219,000 square feet at Brookhollow II, 2900 North Loop West near U.S. 290, by August.

10 Houston master-planned communities make top-seller list

Ten Houston-area communities earned a place among the nation's 50 best-selling master-planned communities in 2017 even as Hurricane Harvey suppressed home sales for four weeks of the year, a new report showed. The 5,000-home Riverstone in Sugar Land and Missouri City remained the region's top-seller and was the only area development to crack the top 25 of the John Burns Real Estate Consulting survey. The Irvine, Calif.-based research and consulting firm focused on the housing industry has been compiling the list for eight years. It surveyed 370 communities to determine the rankings. Developments outside of Texas earned the highest rankings as the national economy and housing markets continued to improve.

Hayden Properties has purchased the 216-unit Stoneleigh on Spring Cypress apartments at 7215 Spring Cypress Road in Spring. Joey Rippel, Todd Marix, Chris Curry, Chris Young and Connor Phillips of HFF marketed the property for the seller, Seneca Investments. The property consists of 11 three-story residential buildings with units averaging 881 square feet. Tyler Ford of HFF arranged acquisition financing. It is 94.4 percent leased. Cimeda Three has purchased a 46,000-square-foot office/warehouse facility at 15135 Jacintoport. Marc Drumwright with Southwest Realty Advisors represented the seller, ELGM. Chris Klein with Colliers International represented the buyer.

Bellagreen expands to Webster with Baybrook restaurant

Bellagreen, an eco-conscious restaurant that has been rebranding Ruggles Green restaurants across the Houston area, has signed a lease for a Webster location. The restaurant, planned to open in the third quarter, will anchor a new shopping center development by Houston-based Baker Katz. The 3,500-square-foot restaurant, the seventh for the chain, is being developed on Bay Area Boulevard between Interstate 45 and Texas Avenue, Baker Katz said.
